Welcome to Recall
Introducing Recall - a new way to capture, organize, and recall everything that matters to you.
By Rouslan Zenetl
The Problem
We’ve all been there. You’re reading an article on your phone, find something worth saving, and… email it to yourself. Or Slack it to yourself. Or add it to one of a dozen different apps you’ve tried over the years.
Later, when you actually need that information, it’s buried somewhere in your inbox, lost in a Slack thread, or forgotten in an app you stopped using months ago.
I lived with this fragmented mess for years. Useful tidbits scattered across email threads, messaging apps, browser bookmarks, and random notes. No single place to capture things. No way to find them later.
The Solution
I built Recall to solve this problem for myself.
The idea was simple: one place to capture everything, available on all my devices, instantly.
When I find something useful—an article, a quote, a link, an idea—I hit the share button and send it to Recall. That’s it. No context switching, no opening another app, no composing an email to myself.
Why iCloud
I wanted Recall to work everywhere I do—iPhone, iPad, Mac—without thinking about sync. iCloud made this possible. Your captures sync automatically across all your Apple devices. No accounts to create, no cloud services to trust with your data. Everything lives in your own iCloud storage.
What Recall Captures
When you save a URL, Recall doesn’t just store a link. It extracts the useful stuff automatically:
- Title and description
- Author and publication date
- Thumbnails and images
- Keywords and summaries
This means you can actually find things later. Search by what you remember—the author’s name, a keyword, when you saved it—and Recall surfaces what you’re looking for.
What’s Next
I’m continuing to build out Recall with iPad and Mac support, widgets for quick capture, and Shortcuts integration. This blog will share updates as new features roll out.
If you’ve ever emailed yourself a link just to find it later, give Recall a try.
