Privacy Policy

Our Commitment
Vault & Recall is designed around a simple principle: your data stays in your iCloud, not ours. This policy explains exactly what that means.
TL;DR
- • We do not operate any servers that store your data.
- • We do not collect, track, or analyze anything you do in the app.
- • We do not use third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising, or crash reporters.
- • Your notes live in your own iCloud Drive as plain files you can read, back up, or delete at any time.
What data the app handles
Notes, links, and media you save
Everything you save with Vault & Recall — links, text, images, PDFs, and other files — is stored locally on your device and synced through your iCloud account (iCloud Drive and CloudKit). We have no servers that receive, see, or store any of this content.
Your data is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy while it moves between your devices via iCloud. We do not have access to your iCloud storage.
Metadata fetched for URLs
When you save a URL, the app may make a direct request from your device to that URL (and only that URL) to download a title, description, and preview image. These requests:
- • go directly from your device to the website you're saving;
- • are not routed through any server we operate;
- • are not logged or stored by us.
Files you import
If you share or import a file, image, or PDF into Vault & Recall, that file is copied into your Vault & Recall library inside your iCloud Drive. We don't see or transmit those files.
Photos and Files permissions
If you choose to attach a photo or file from your device, iOS/macOS will prompt for the appropriate permission. The app uses these permissions only to read the files you explicitly pick. Permissions are revocable at any time in your device's Settings.
What we do not do
- • We do not collect personal information.
- • We do not use analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- • We do not track you across apps or websites.
- • We do not sell, share, or monetize your data.
- • We do not show ads.
- • We do not require an account, email, or phone number to use the app.
Children's privacy
The app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Your data, your control
Because your notes are stored as plain files in your iCloud Drive:
- • You can browse them directly in the Files app under the Recall folder.
- • You can export, copy, or back them up at any time.
- • Deleting the app removes the local copy on the device. The iCloud copy remains under your control until you delete it from iCloud Drive (or remove the app's data via Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage).
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will change, and a new version will be posted at the same URL.
